Yamamoto is the strongest captain within the Gotei 13 and the most feared, even Aizen is wary of his strength. Yamamoto is a master of swordplay, having taught the likes of Ukitake and Shunsei, as well as Kenpachi Zaraki. His level of swordplay is such that he is able to battle against two high level captains with ease. He also has a complete mastery of flash steps, able to outrun two high level captains without them even noticing. Yamamoto is also a master tactician, having thousands of years worth of experience underneath his belt. Yamamoto has an extremely high and powerful spiritual pressure that burns with the same fire elements as himself. It is capable of setting his surroundings on fire without him even unsheathing his Zanpakuto. His spiritual pressure is so great that he paralyzed a lieutenant with just a look, to the point where she needed to be taken away a considerable distance just to be able to breath again. Yamamoto also boasts incredible strength, something his physique hints at. Yamamoto is also a master of Kido and hand to hand Combat.
Zanpakuto: Ryujin Jakka (Flowing flame blade)
Sealed state: In it's sealed state, Ryujin Jakka takes the form of Yamamoto's cane.
Shikai release call: "Reduce the whole of creation to ashes"
Shikai appearence: In it's Shikai state, Ryujin Jakka takes the form of a long Katana with a dark red hilt and a circular guard. The blade is completely engulfed in flame as is everything surrounding Yamamoto.
Shikai abilities: Ryujin Jakka emits an extremely powerful aura of flame that disintigrates anything around it into ashes. Aside from this, a few distinctive abilites have been shown.
1:Jokaku Enjo (Fortress blaze) This is an attack that creates a large sphere of flame to imprison an enemy within it for a long period of time. The effect stays even if Yamamoto reseals his sword.
2: Number one Nadagiri (Clean sweep) Yamamoto creates an elongated blade of flame that cuts anything and reduces it to ash.
Bankai name: Entei Ryujin Jakka
Bankai appearence: In it's Bankai form, Ryujin Jakka takes the form of a massive pheonix of fire
Bankai abilites: In it's Bankai state, Entei Ryujin Jakka engulfs everything around it in an endless sea of flames that burn hotter then the sun, reducing all around it to ash.

Ryujin Jaka is a very honest and straightforeward spirit. He never lies and won't stand for any injustice. He can be just as stubborn as Yamamoto.

Yamamoto is the epitome of what he believes a captain of Soul society should be. He follows the rules and traditions of soul society down to the letter and does not stand for insubordination. He is well respected by the other captains for his years of experience and power. He is quick to anger in the face of betrayel and is absolutely ruthless in combat. He is a master of eastern culture, most notably the tea ceremony. He doesn't like western culture however. If he wanted too he could be in the Royal guard, but there is no one in the Serietei that could replace him.

Little is known about Yamamoto's exstensive history. It is known that about 2000 years ago, Yamamoto founded the soul reaper academy. During this time, he personaly trainted Ukitake and Kyoraku and treated them like his own sons, proud of them when they achieved captain status.
